How could I forget one of my own nemeses as a Goal Keeper and a stalwart for the Blackhawks over many years? Darren Bertles! This also led me to a major review?

Darren`s career games tally includes 25 games as a forward/defenseman, but his career as a Goal Keeper for the Blackhawks 1980-1996, 2008-2010, for 290 Games and then for the Sharks in their early years of 1997-1999, 2001-2002 for 93 Games add up to 383 Career Games as a Goal Keeper from his tally of 408 Games. This week another significant piece in the history of Ice Hockey in Victoria was written when Mathew Fairbanks of the Demons IHC Inc. playedhis 250^th Senior Game as a Goal Keeper!

Mathew`s total of 250 Career Games makes him only the fourth Goal Keeper to play 250+ Senior IHV Career Games. This is behind Ronald Black who played 342 games with the Tigers, Monarch, Monarch/Saints, Hakoah, Saints and Russell Athletic from 1977 to 1999.2^nd is Tony Cooper who played 341 games with the Rangers & the Sharks from 1973-1986, 1996 & 1998. 3^rd is Scott Moreland who played277 games with the Tigers, Monarchs, Hakoah, Jets & Demons from 1979, 1981-1985, 1988-1994, 1996, 1998-2002.
